Asset Inventory
Comprehensive asset databases created through advanced aerial and terrestrial surveys, ensuring precise railway line management.
Asset Surveying
Surveying long railway corridors combines aerial LIDAR with mobile terrestrial inspection. Aerial LIDAR, using a carbon-fiber aircraft, collects dense elevation data to map railway assets. Hi-rail vehicles inspect infrastructure, capturing critical parameters like track gauge and twist. The track centerline is also acquired for accurate data processing.

Data Processing
A comprehensive dataset is created by combining aerial and terrestrial survey data in two phases: data fusion and object extraction. MERMEC specialists normalize collection differences for high-resolution details. Ground control points ortho-rectify aerial data, while tie-points realign both datasets. The final dataset identifies and localizes railway objects, which are validated and referenced to the track centerline.

Inventory Set Up
All extracted railway objects are enriched with metadata (e.g., manufacturer, installation date, inspection history) for predictive maintenance. These data sets are integrated into a database platform, where a web-based system allows users to analyze data for better planning and investment decisions. Maps are developed incorporating asset, environmental, safety, and operations data, offering a comprehensive view of network conditions and performance. This enables targeted investments based on geolocated and specific asset data.
